Y62 GVM Upgrade

In Western Australia, GVM stands for Gross Vehicle Mass. It refers to the maximum weight a vehicle is allowed to carry when fully loaded, including the weight of the vehicle itself, passengers, cargo, and any additional equipment.

Understanding GVM is important for several reasons:

  1. Legal Compliance: Vehicles must not exceed their GVM as specified by the manufacturer. Overloading can lead to fines and penalties.
  2. Safety: Exceeding the GVM can compromise vehicle handling, braking, and stability, increasing the risk of accidents.
  3. Insurance: In the event of an accident, exceeding GVM may affect insurance claims or coverage.
  4. Road Regulations: Different weight classifications may affect road usage fees, permits, and access to certain roads.

In Western Australia, it's crucial for drivers, particularly those using heavy vehicles or towing trailers, to be aware of their GVM to ensure safe and compliant operation.

That’s why at AMV Automotive we offer three GVM’S for the Y62 Patrol. We have worked closely with the Department of Transport of Western Australia to get Type Approval for all three options.
